Jakarta, May 24, 2010 –  PT Antam Tbk (IDX-ANTM; ASX-ATM) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) of Purwokerto in the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.  

Antam and Unsoed will cooperate in the field of education, research, human resources development, and community empowerment within Antam’s mining operations as well as its post mining areas.  
Antam’s General Affairs and CSR Director, Denny Maulasa said,
  
“The cooperation aims to improve the welfare of surrounding community, through the implementation of education, training, integrated farming and entrepreneurship programs. Antam participates in both formal and non-formal education.”  

Unsoed will provide assistance to the implementation of Antam’s CSR programs, especially in relation to education, fisheries, agriculture and animal husbandry sectors.  

Antam forms cooperation with academic institutions in providing advice and feedback to Antam’s CSR programs. In the past, Antam had formed cooperation with several universities such as the Haluoleo University, the Hasanuddin University, the Khairun University, the University of 19 November, and the Bogor Agricultural Institute.
