ANTAM Receives Mineral and Coal Mining Safety and Environmental Management Award

Jakarta, June 8, 2017 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ANTAM; ASX – ATM; IDX – ANTM) is pleased to announce it has received the Mineral and Coal Mining Safety and Environmental Management Awards of 2015 and 2016. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources delivered the 4 ADITAMA awards, 6 UTAMA awards and 10 PRATAMA awards to ANTAM’s business units and subsidiary.

In the Category of Mineral and Coal Mining Safety Management for Holders of Mining Business Permits, Special Mining Business Permits and Special Operations Mining Business Permits for Processing and Refinery in the 2016 period, ANTAM received the Utama Award through its Southeast Sulawesi Nickel Mining Business Unit, the North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit and the Bauxite Mining Business Unit. ANTAM also received the Pratama Award through its Logam Mulia Precious Metals Processing and Refinery Business Unit and ANTAM’s subsidiary PT Cibaliung Sumberdaya.
In the Category of Mineral and Coal Mining Environmental Management for Holders of the Mineral and Coal Mining Business Permits in the 2016 period, ANTAM received Aditama Award through its Gold Mining Business Unit and PT Cibaliung Sumberdaya. In the same category, ANTAM also received the PRATAMA through its Southeast Sulawesi Nickel Mining Business Unit, the North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit and the Bauxite Mining Business Unit.
During the event, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources presented awards to 41 companies consisting of 9 companies with ADITAMA award, 17 companies with PRATAMA award and 15 companies for UTAMA award.
The selection for award recipients was based on independent evaluation which was conducted by mine inspectors and experts. The evaluation criteria of the Mineral and Coal Mining Safety Award consisted of two factors, namely accident prevention and accident statistics. The evaluation criteria of the Mineral and Coal Mining Environmental Management Award consisted of 7 factors, namely administration of environmental issues, environmental management, erosion control and sedimentation, nursery, reclamation and revegetation, and supporting and monitoring facilities.
