Antam is committed to implement sound corporate governance. Consistently, we have adopted ASX Corporate Governance Principles & Recommendations and Indonesia Code of GCG. Departures from ASX’s recommendations were mostly due to the difference between corporate structure in Indonesia and Australia, where Indonesia adopts a two-board system, and Australia adopts a one-board system. In addition, as a State Owned Enterprise (SOE), we are also required to abide certain regulations applicable for SOEs. As a result to this, there are several differences in the implementation of recommendations. Nevertheless, we always strive to enhance our corporate governance practices through improvements efforts, and not only focusing on complying with the minimum standard; because we believe that implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) goes beyond compliance to rules and regulations.
