 ANTAM Nickel Commodity Recorded Positive Performance Growth During 2021

Jakarta, January 20, 2022 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), a member of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) - the State-Owned Enterprise Holding of the Mining Industry, is pleased to announce that the Company recorded positive growth of ANTAM's nickel segment performance in 2021 (unaudited) in line with global economic recovery and the growth of nickel demands.

For ferronickel commodities, in 2021, ANTAM recorded unaudited ferronickel production of 25,818 tons of nickel in ferronickel (TNi), relatively stable compared to production achievements in 2020. ANTAM’s ferronickel unaudited sales volume in 2021 were also solid reached 25,992 TNi.

ANTAM's President Director, Nicolas D. Kanter, said:
“ANTAM's solid nickel production and sales performance in 2021, aligned with Our efforts to maintain positive growth of the Company's performance in 2021. In line with the growth demand of ANTAM's commodity products, We have optimized the Company's main commodity production and sales performance through maintaining production costs efficiently.”

In 2021, ANTAM recorded unaudited nickel ore production, which is used as raw material for ANTAM's ferronickel plants and sales to domestic customers, of 11.01 million wet metric tons (wmt), an increase of 131% compared to the production achievement in 2020 of 4.76 million wmt. The Company also recorded unaudited sales performance of nickel ore in 2021 of 7.64 million wmt, growing 132% from sales achievement in 2020 of 3.30 million wmt. In line with the growth outlook for the domestic nickel processing industry, in 2021 ANTAM focused on developing the domestic nickel ore market.

To face the challenges of global commodity price volatility, ANTAM focuses on efforts to reduce cash costs of production and implement strategic policies related to appropriate and optimal cost efficiency initiatives.
