Jakarta, June 28, 2022 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM) member of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) – the State-Owned Enterprise Holding of the Mining Industry Indonesia, announced that the Company is received appreciation in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Village Development (PDB) Awards 2022. ANTAM received two awards, the Gold rating for the Integrated Coconut Industry Development Program in North Maluku and the Silver rating for the Community-Based Post-Mining Reclamation Program (Mamalam) in West Kalimantan. The award was handed over directly by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K. H. Ma'ruf Amin, to ANTAM's President Director, Nico Kanter, on June 23, 2022, in Jakarta.

ANTAM's President Director, Nico Kanter, said:

“As a sustainable company, ANTAM always strives to present CSR programs that have a direct impact on the economy and the growth of the community around the operational areas. ANTAM's success in achieving the 2022 CSR & PDB Awards is an acknowledgment of the Company’s CSR program. This is proof of ANTAM's contribution to realizing sustainable villages around the Company's operational areas, particularly in the North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit and West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit.”

The Integrated Coconut Industry Development Program implemented at North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit and the Mamalam Program implemented at West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit apply the Creating Shared Value and Creating New Value approaches to build a prosperous, independent, and sustainable society.

The integrated Coconut Industry Development Program utilizes the potential of the coconut plant to address the sustainability challenges faced by the community and the Company. Through this program, the farmer who initially only processed coconut into black copra were able to take advantage of other potentials from coir, shells, and other parts of the coconut plant so that they could increase income and create jobs and business opportunities. This program can also benefit the Company by using coconet products for reclamation purposes at a more efficient price.

The Mamalam program was implemented at the West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit to maximize community involvement in post-mining land reclamation activities, especially for the provision of seeds and planting. This program has also succeeded in developing integrated agriculture and supplying agricultural products as food for employees at the West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit and also for the surrounding community.

The CSR & PDB Awards 2022 are organized by the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF) and the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, which aim to encourage and synergize the participation of the business world, Regional Government, and other stakeholders in accelerating village development through the development of Village-Owned Enterprises and other CSR activities.

The program assessment is carried out independently by experts and the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration. There were 88 programs from 64 companies that took part in the assessment, of which 22 programs received a Gold rating, 53 programs received a Silver rating, and 13 programs received a Bronze rating.
