ANTAM Recorded Positive Performance During the First Half Period of 2021

Jakarta, September 28, 2021 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), member of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) – the State-Owned Enterprise Holding of the Mining Industry, is pleased to announce the Company’s positive financial performance during the First Six Month Period of 2021 (1H21). The Company retains its positive performance growth through the implementation of proper health protocols with high consistency throughout its operating areas. In addition, increased product added value, optimization of production, sales, and implementation of appropriate and efficient cost management contributed to the Company's positive performance growth.

In 1H21 ANTAM’s solid operational and financial performance was reflected from Earning Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) amounted to Rp2.49 trillion. The growth of ANTAM’s profitability in 1H21 is reflected in ANTAM’s gross profit of Rp3.17 trillion, an increase of 141% from gross profit in First Half Period 2020 (1H20) amounting to Rp1.31 trillion. Meanwhile, ANTAM's operating profit in 1H21 is recorded at Rp1.53 trillion, significantly increased by 442% from the operating profit in 1H20 of Rp281.65 billion. The solid improvement of gross and operating profits gave support to ANTAM’s net profit in 1H21 amounted Rp1.16 trillion. 

The proper implementation of the Company’s operational strategy was also reflecting in the positive profitability of its main commodity that comprised of nickel, gold, and bauxite products. Throughout 1H21, the Company was generating a positive inflow of net cash provided from operating activities amounted to Rp2.40 trillion, significantly increased more than 17 times compare to the net cash provided from operating activities within the 1H20 period of Rp141.43 billion. Within 1H21, the Company posted a net increase in cash and cash equivalents amounted to Rp1.07 trillion. ANTAM’s solid operation and sales performance, strengthened ANTAM's financial structure which reflected from cash and cash equivalents in 1H21 reached Rp5.12 trillion increase 70% from 1H20 of Rp3.01 trillion. ANTAM’s Production & Sales Performance Remains Solid in 1H21
In 2021, in relation to the Company’s marketing strategy, ANTAM has been focusing to develop domestic-based customers for its gold and nickel ore product in-line with the commodity demand in the domestic market.

In 1H21, ANTAM net sales amounted Rp17.28 trillion, rose to 87% compared to net sales in 1H20 amounted Rp9.24 trillion. Revenue from domestic sales activity as the dominant contributor amounted Rp13.68 trillion or equal to 79% of the Company’s total net sales. According with commodity segment, gold sales was the largest contributor of ANTAM’s net sales amounted Rp11.87 trillion (69%), ferronickel booked net sales of Rp2.59 trillion (15%), nickel ore amounted Rp2.04 trillion (12%), and bauxite & alumina segment amounted Rp613.68 billion (4%).
In 2021, ANTAM is focusing on developing the domestic customer base especially for gold and nickel ore commodities in line with the positive growth awareness of gold investment and positive growth demand for Company’s gold product on domestic market. During 1H21, ANTAM’s gold sales volume reached 13,341 kg (428,923 troy.oz), rose to 69% from the achievement in 1H20.  Meanwhile, ANTAM’s gold production volume from the Pongkor and Cibaliung mines posted at 719 kg (23,116 troy oz). ANTAM continues to innovate in its way of conduction Logam Mulia gold product marketing services through the implementation of online gold sales and buyback through the official website at Through the Butik Emas Logam Mulia network spread across 11 cities in Indonesia and sales exhibition in several locations, ANTAM carried out the operation and sales activity with a strict health protocol.

In line with the Company’s strategy to expand its gold domestic market share, ANTAM through its subsidiaries PT Abuki Jaya Stainless Indonesia (transformed into PT Emas Antam Indonesia) and PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk launch two innovative gold products called EmasKITA and Kencana. EmasKITA (Emas Kecil Investasi Terpercaya dan Aman) is a micro-fine gold product with a domination of 0.1 gram and 0.25 gram. Meanwhile Kencana product (Keindahan Terpercaya dan Bermakna) is pure gold jewellery collection.

In 1H21, ANTAM recorded a positive result for its nickel segment. In 1H21, ANTAM’s ferronickel production volume reached 12,679 ton of nickel in ferronickel (TNi), with the ferronickel sales volume in 1H21 amounted to 12,068 TNi. Meanwhile for the nickel ore commodity, in 1H21, the Company’s production volume of nickel ore, which was used as the ore feed to the ferronickel plant as as well as sold to the domestic market amounted to 5.34 million thousand wet metric ton (wmt), significantly increased by 287% compared to the nickel ore production in 1H20 of 1.38 milion wmt.  Meanwhile, the sales volume of nickel ore in the domestic market reached 3.66 million wmt in 1H21, significantly increase more than 21 times compared to sales volume in 1H20 of 168 thousand wmt. In 2021, ANTAM is focusing on development of Company’s domestic nickel ore market in line with the positive nickel outlook demand from domestic market with taking priority on the conservation aspect of ANTAM's nickel ore reserves and resources.

In 1H21, ANTAM recorded unaudited bauxite ore production volume, which was used as ore feed for alumina production and as well as being sold to the third party customer, amounted to 1.09 million wmt, increase 36% compared to bauxite ore production volume in 1H20. Furthermore, ANTAM recorded unaudited bauxite ore sales volume of 587 thousand wmt in 1H21, grew 4% compared to 1H20 bauxite ore sales volume. Meanwhile, the production volume of CGA product reached 28,710 ton alumina in 1H21 with the sales volume of 65,700 ton alumina, increase 69% from the sales volume in 1H20.
