Flora and Fauna Biodiversity in ANTAM's Mining Business License 2021

The number of flora biodiversity observed in the area of mining business license of ANTAM West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit in 2021 recorded as much as 76 species. There was no change in the diversity of flora in the natural forest area related to the category of plant growth, where the diversity of the seedling level was still low and the level of saplings and poles were still high. There were 67 species of fauna found in the first half of 2021, including 12 species of birds in natural forest areas and 7 species of birds in reclamation areas. A total of 31 species of insects were found in each area of natural forest and reclaimed area. A total of 51 birds from 12 species were found in the observations in the second half of 2021 and 61 species of plankton were found in the observations of aquatic biota. The species of plankton that dominate the waters around the ANTAM area are Gonatozygon (566 individuals), Anabaena (228 individuals) and Micrasterias (93 individuals). The species of plants found in the the IUP area of ANTAM West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit that are protected based on the Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 92 of 2018 and The International Union for Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) are Medang Plants (Beilschmiedia madang) and its variants. The Medang plant variants consist of Medang Ayau, Medang Cabe, Medang Perawas and Medang Perekam.
