The award was presented by the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir to ANTAM’s Directors of Finance and Risk Management, Elisabeth RT Siahaan.

ANTAM’s Director of Finance and Risk Management, Elisabeth RT Siahaan said:
“As an integrated natural resources management company from upstream to downstream, ANTAM is always committed to thriving together with the communities around the Company’s operational areas. One of the manifestations of this commitment is implemented through the PEPELING Cisangku Program in the Gold Mining Business Unit that involves the Cisangku Village residents. Through this program, the Company conducts community empowerment based on environmental preservation that aims to strengthen the economic, social, cultural, and institutional communities in Cisangku Village. The BCOMSS 2024 award is a form of appreciation for the Company’s effort to create shared value. ANTAM will continue to contribute to improving of community welfare through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in all operational areas to achieve sustainability.”

PEPELING Cisangku is one of ANTAM’s social and environmental responsibility programs in the Gold Mining Business Unit. This program was initiated by the Company through the Gold Mining Business Unit along with the Cisangku Model Village Conservation Group in 2019 by considering the community needs.  Several programs, among other area restoration implemented through critical land rehabilitation to nurture endemic plants of Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS) were carried out to preserve the environment. As Cisangku is located within the TNGHS area, participatory area patrol activities by the Cisangku Model Village Conservation Group are also carried out to ensure the security and preservation of forest areas from illegal logging, land clearing, and poaching.

In addition, several economic empowerment activities, through the development of composting, sheep farming, tilapia farming, and ecotourism development are carried out to improve the welfare of the people of Cisangku Village. The PEPELING Cisangku Program provides many benefits for the Cisangku villagers, particularly in improving the economic impact that followed with the environmental conservation in the TNGHS areas. To date, about 37 Cisangku villagers have benefited from this program. Through creating shared value, the Company also gains values (profit) by being supported in fulfilling the obligation to carry out an efficient reclamation program around the operational area.

Creating shared value is one of the fulfilments of ANTAM’s sustainability pillars adapted from the MIND ID Sustainability Pathway, the Economic Development Pillar. The Sustainability Pathway is a guideline to all MIND ID members to deliver on their commitment to implement sustainable mineral resources management. It is also a fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) 8, which aims to increase inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and SDGs 10, which seeks to reduce inequality.
