ANTAM Restores Deforested Region In Cisarua, Bogor

Bogor, December 12, 2013 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX - ATM; IDX - ANTM; ANTAM) is pleased to announce that the company launches an initiative to plant trees at deforested areas at Cisarua, Bogor, West Java.

ANTAM's President Director, Tato Miraza said:
"ANTAM is committed to actively participate in natural conservation initiatives focusing on deforested areas. Our environment management and community development initiatives are implemented with the participation of local communities."

ANTAM is committed in conducting corporate social responsibility programs in natural conservation, targeting the company's surrounding areas as well as outside of ANTAM's mining sites. In 2012, ANTAM planted 100,000 seeds in deforested areas in Cisarua and in 2013 ANTAM targets to plant 200,000 seeds

The program aims to rehabilitate deforested areas and to build public awareness on the importance of trees planting to reduce the damage on critical and unproductive areas.

The Cisarua-Puncak, Bogor region serves as a buffer zone to Jakarta and its surroundings to prevent fooding. As such, trees planting at the Cisarua-Puncak, Bogor region is crucial.
