ANTAM's Efficiency Efforts Resulting In Rp26.2 Billion Savings In First Half Of 2013

Jakarta, July 18th, 2013 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX - ATM; IDX - ANTM; ANTAM) announces today the company's efficiency efforts have resulted in Rp26.2 billion of savings during the first half of 2013. The Rp26.2 billions savings were 44% of the year's target of Rp59.2 billion.

ANTAM's President Director, Tato Miraza, said:
"We will intensify our efficiency efforts amidst the current non conducive commodity price environment. We are committed to exceed our efficiency target this year as certain efficiency programs are yet to be implemented in second semester of 2013 as to maintain the company's solid financial condition."

ANTAM implements efficiency and cost reduction programs across the company's line of business. The largest savings in the first half of 2013 came from the improvement of production process and modification of production equipment at Pomalaa ferronickel smelters. In total, the Southeast Sulawesi Nickel Mining Business Unit saved Rp19.4 billion in the first half of 2013. ANTAM's Gold Mining Business Unit saved Rp2.3 billion during the same period, resulting from modification of production equipment. In North Maluku Nickel Mi-ning Business Unit, savings amounted to Rp4.4 billion, as a result of negotiation with key vendors as well as savings on fuel costs. ANTAM's Precious Metals Processing and Refinery Business Unit saved Rp95.4 million in the first half of 2013.
